FIFA, Agent Fees Regulation Bubble?

FIFA's plan to limit the enormous fees taken by agents when transferring players has been put on hold.

According to the Associated Press on the 1st , FIFA, which tried to establish rules to limit soccer player agents' fees, lost a counterclaim filed by the agent industry, including the Professional Football Agent Association PROFAA, to the UK.

As a result, FIFA's policy to curb overheating of the agent market has become powerless.

FIFA believes that the soccer transfer market is overheating due to the agent and has started to control fees.

FIFA estimated that the agent earned well over $600 million 780 billion won from international transfer fees last year.

In particular, top-tier players such as Erling Holan Norway, who moved from Borussia Dortmund Germany to Manchester City England ahead of last season, are believed to earn tens of millions of dollars in transfer fees alone.

FIFA has decided to limit the agent's fee to a maximum of 10% of the transfer fee if the agent goes to the negotiation table on behalf of the club that wants to sell the player.

In addition, if the player's annual salary exceeds $200,000, the maximum is 3% and the maximum is 5% if the player's annual salary does not exceed $200,000.

If the agent represents both the player and the club, it will be limited to 6% and 10%, respectively.

FIFA also completely banned "bilateral representation," in which agents represent both the club that sells players and the club where they live. 토토사이트

In a lawsuit filed by PROFAA over its policy to curb overheating of the agent market, FIFA won the Court of Arbitration for Sport CAS in July, but PROFAA challenged courts across Europe, including the UK, in September.
